Gov. Kathy Hochul on Sunday called the latest shooting death by federal agents in Minneapolis "a deadly pattern."

Hochul spoke about the incident in Minnesota during a briefing on the weekend winter storm Sunday.

The Department of Homeland Security said Alex Jeffrey Pretti, 37, was shot after he “approached” Border Patrol officers with a 9-mm semiautomatic handgun.

She was critical of the incident, calling it a “continuation of a deadly pattern.”

Hochul called for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign or for President Donald Trump to fire her.

Noem has “forfeited her right to lead,” she said.

“This was not a threat that needed to be neutralized. It was a civilian exercising the free right to protest,” Hochul said.
