Officials: Lawnmower catches fire, spreads to Norwalk garage

The FDNY says two people were hospitalized, one with serious injuries, after a fire erupted in an apartment building in Soundview Friday.

Flames broke out on the fourth floor of the 19-story building at 825 Morrison Ave. just after 5:30 p.m.

Video from the Citizen app shows smoke billowing out of a window.

News 12 crews at the scene caught a large FDNY and EMS presence.

Firefighters contained the blaze in just over 45 minutes, according to fire officials.

EMS took the victims to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
