Part of I-95 reopened after a three-vehicle crash in Mamaroneck caused backups during the Wednesday morning rush.

Calls of a rollover crash first came in around 6:45 a.m. State police told News 12 a box truck rolled over on the southbound center and right lanes.

Two other cars were involved in the crash, but troopers did not specify how they were involved.

The box truck was towed away with its windshield completely gone. Another white Nissan Altima with damage to its front was also towed away.

The driver of the box truck suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Residents in the area expressed their concerns to News 12, saying they have seen similar crashes happen in the neighborhood over the years.

"It happens a lot," said Barbara Richter, of Larchmont. "People drive too fast, they’re not paying attention…tailgating, fender benders."

The right and center lanes of I-95 were closed as crews worked to clear the scene.

Roads were back open just before 8:15 a.m. While traffic flowed smoothly since then, residents hope their fellow neighbors will be extremely cautious as they celebrate New Year's Eve.

"I hate to say it, but it's amateur hour on New Year's Eve," Richter said. "Stay at home. Read a book."

A cause of the crash was not immediately known.
