It was a night to remember for two of the most storied high school football programs in the state.

New Canaan and Greenwich were both crowned state champions, while Bunnell ran out of time against Windsor.

Rams' Finn Mocco and James Crowell scored huge touchdowns in New Canaan's 34-13 rout of Cheshire in the Class L state championship. It's New Canaan's fourth straight state title.

"This senior class is one of the best I've ever had," head coach Lou Marinelli said. "Right from the beginning, their leadership really brought us to where we are."

Greenwich dominated the Class LL championship to make it back-to-back state titles. Jack Kelly scored multiple first half touchdowns, and Hector Lopez also found paydirt in the cardinals' 45-6 win over Southington.

"That Gatorade bucket was cold and I have no sleeves on," Greenwich head coach Anthony Morello said. "We're going to enjoy seeing that banner go up in our gymnasium."

In the Class MM championship, Bunnell battled Windsor until the final seconds. Rody Ricketts and Keyshawn Zimmerman each scored touchdowns, while the bulldogs defense forced two interceptions in the 23-13 loss.
