The man accused of killing a teenage boy and critically injuring his brother and mother in a shooting in Somers last year pleaded guilty in Westchester County Court in White Plains on Thursday.

The Raimondi family told News 12 off camera that they were "satisfied" and "relieved" with the guilty plea.

They were visibly shaken up inside the courtroom as Fernando Jimenez Meza pleaded guilty to all nine charges that he is facing in this case, including second-degree murder.

Jimenez withdrew his original not guilty plea for a lesser prison sentence of 37 years to life in prison with five years post release supervision.

Jimenez admitted that he shot two teenage boys and their mother in their townhome in Baldwin Place last October.

Michael Raimondi, 15, was killed in the shooting.

His brother Matthew, 13, and their mom, Christina, were seriously injured.

News 12 was there when Jimenez was found and arrested 12 hours after the incident took place in a building in Putnam Valley.

After court was adjourned on Thursday, the family said they would share more of their reaction at Jimenez's sentencing on Dec. 18.

Jimenez's attorney also declined to comment on the guilty plea.

"I remember waking up the night of and seeing the sirens and the lights," says Somers resident Brandon Velez.

People who live in the community where this tragic violence happened are still shaken, nearly a year later.

"It was pretty disturbing," another Somers resident told News 12.

Residents of this community say their hearts go out to the family.
