Teenage bicyclist strikes car in Garnerville
14-year-old male bicyclist has been transported to Westchester Medical Center after striking a car in Garnerville Tuesday evening, according to Haverstraw Police Chief John Gould.

A 14-year-old male bicyclist has been transported to Westchester Medical Center after striking a car in Garnerville Tuesday evening, according to Haverstraw Police Chief John Gould.
Police Chief Gould says units responded to reports of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon officers arriving, Chief Gould says the teenager was seen lying on Main Street at the intersection of Tavarone Street in Garnerville.
Chief Gould says the teenager was clearly injured and was transported to Westchester Medical Center.
After looking into the incident, the incident became more clear.
"After looking into the incident, it shows the 14-year-old driving eastbound on Tavarone Street towards Main Street. A driver was driving southbound on Main Street towards the intersection of 202 when the bicyclist came into the intersection, did not stop for the stop sign, and struck the vehicle," said Chief Gould.
Chief Gould confirmed the driver of the vehicle did stop after the accident occurred, contacted 911 and rendered aid.
At this time, the condition of the bike rider is unknown.
According to New York State Department of Transportation, bicyclists are required to follow traffic lights and stop signs as a motor vehicle would.
