The FDNY was called to the scene of a fire located in East New York., just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The ground floor of 426 New Lots Ave. has been home to New Era Tax Services since 2010.

There is also a residency above the building.

Next door, at 428 New Lots Ave. and 430 New Lots Ave., more businesses and families were met with Easter Sunday flames.

The Red Cross says it helped register five households for emergency assistance.

The FDNY says one person was treated for minor injuries on site.

News 12 was also in contact with New Era Tax service, which says all of its documents are backed up on a secure server. Its office says if any clients need to reach them, they can send an email to their business or leave a voicemail.

More information can be found here.

For residents in need who have not yet registered for Red Cross assistance, call 1-877-RED CROSS (877-733-2676) and select Option 1.
