Hundreds of Long Islanders took part in an annual holy tradition to mark Good Friday.

Long Islanders sang, prayed and reflected at each of the 14 stations of the cross at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury.
Many say taking part in the 1 1/2-mile walk helps to strengthen their bond as Christians.

"Its a very peaceful experience, we walk with Jesus through the stations. Many of us have family here, so it's a connection as well," explained Norreen Crane, of Westbury.

The Westbury cemetery has held the Good Friday procession for the last 30 years ahead of Easter celebrations.
