Congestion pricing has been implemented for New York City, and we have the real deal on how to turn those tolls into money for travel.

When it comes to congestion pricing, many New Yorkers will be impacted. Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says, "For those folks who are commuting into New York from Westchester or Long Island, around 40% say they are doing it in a car truck or van, so they are going to feel the impact of congestion pricing if it goes through, public transportation accounts for around 36% of commuting around 13% say they work from home and around 10% get in through other ways."

Those already in the city may also drive in that congestion zone in lower Manhattan and get hit with the $9 toll for cars or $4.50 for motorcycles.

But there are ways to turn these tolls into money back in your pocket.

News 12's Kristie Reeter says check your credit cards. With her credit card a toll charge is considered travel, resulting in three times the points.

That breaks down like this: With this card, if she gets 945 points a month for tolls, that translates to $9.45 a month, which is $113.40 a year back in her pocket.
