Man charged in Yorktown teen’s killing accused of having contraband while in custody

A corrections officer at the Riverhead Jail was indicted Friday, accused of sexually assaulting an inmate.

The Suffolk County district attorney says it happened in a walkway between jail cells, where 35-year-old Jason Middleton, of Central Islip, knew there were no cameras.

Middleton is accused of forcing the inmate to perform oral sex on him.

An investigation found that Middleton threatened to put contraband in the inmate's cell if they refused.

Middleton faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
