Nearly $2 million to fund intelligence center, body cameras for Orange County law enforcement

Officials say nearly $2 million in funding will help Orange County law enforcement establish a real-time intelligence center and purchase body cameras for correctional officers.

"The center will unify 911 call takers, 311 mental health operators, first responder dispatchers, intelligence analysts and emergency management staff to function as a cohesive team," said Orange County Commissioner of Emergency Services Peter Cirigliano.
"We’re going to be able to look at that body camera to roll back and use it as a learning tool, but also as a way to protect them,” said Neuhaus.
Nearly $2 million was also given to local fire departments weeks ago.
