Clarkstown police say a teenaged pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in New City on Wednesday.

The crash occurred near the intersection of South Main and First streets just after 2 p.m., according to police.

Officials say the 13-year-old cyclist was removed from the scene with serious injuries and taken to a hospital.

A portion of South Main Street was closed as police were investigating the incident, but it has since been reopened.

It is still unclear what caused the crash.
