Newburgh police: Shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 injured; suspect sought

One person is dead and another was injured Sunday following a shooting in Newburgh. Police say they responded to a call of shots fired on Courtney Avenue. Officers say when they arrived, they found one victim dead of gunshot wounds on Monument Street.

The second was located at Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital, with a non-life-threatening injury.

As of Sunday afternoon, the suspect remains unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detectives at 845-569-7509.
