Prosecutors say a Hawthorne man was sentenced to 17 years in prison for multiple violent attacks as revenge for drug robberies. Wayne Hicks directed the attacks, including three years ago when he used his brother to lure a person he believed took part in a robbery to a new city residence. Hicks then directed his assailants over video chat to violently attack the victim and steal his belongings several others who carried out the attack were convicted and sentenced.

An investigation is underway into what caused the basement of a three-story multi family home in Dover to collapse. Fire officials responded to the home on Wednesday night, and when they arrived they found significant structural damage. Responders did a thorough search and found there were no victims.

The search for a missing Hudson Valley army sergeant continues nearly two weeks after he was last seen Nicolas Faust, 43, was last seen at a house party on Mill Street in Poughkeepsie. State police found the Faust’s car in a parking lot behind a house last Sunday. Faust’s family says he lived in his car and worked as a certified nursing assistant at a nursing home in Peekskill. State police added Faust was last seen wearing scrubs or cargo-type pants. Anyone with information is asked to call 845-677-7300.
