State police say they discovered a 3-month-old baby dead following a suspicious medical call in Sparrow Bush last week.

Authorities were seen at 9 Fawn Hill early Friday morning by neighbors who sent News 12 photos of the law enforcement response. They say state police were seen carrying what appeared to be evidence from the home.

Police have not released any details surrounding the incident other than the child’s age and say the death is being investigated as suspicious.

Neighbors in the rural trailer park community say the loss is heartbreaking.

“I heard the sirens like around 4:45 p.m. while I was feeding my baby,” says Cameron Seibek. “I have a 1-month-old and a 1-year-old so that hits home to me.”

State police will not say what the medical call was for or how it’s believed the baby died, and, so far - there are no word of any arrests.

The incident is the third separate incident involving a child’s death in Orange County in recent weeks, including two children in Newburgh whose cases authorities say are also under investigation.
