MTA lays out service changes for US Open

Transit officials are recommending all attendees rely on public transit to minimize any travel headaches.
The U.S. Open lasts 14 days and attracts people from all around the world to the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it is increasing service on multiple lines. The increased service also comes as changes are being made to the F and M lines starting Monday.

The MTA will be running five additional No. 7 trains that will run express from Mets-Willets to 74th Street and then make all local stops to Hudson Yard.
For those who plan on taking the Long Island Railroad from Manhattan, commuters will be able to hop on a train at either Penn Station or Grand Central and get to Mets-Willets in less than 20 minutes.
Starting Monday, F trains will run on the E line between Manhattan and Queens and weekday M trains will be partially suspended. To help accommodate riders, the MTA says they are adding a special F shuttle train and free shuttle buses as well as increasing service on the R trains.
