A spokesperson says an unauthorized person was struck by a Pascack Valley line train east of Dutch Lane in Spring Valley just before 10 p.m. on Monday.
The person was taken to an area hospital where he died.
No other information on the victim has been released. It was not immediately clear why he was on the tracks.
