Police: Deadly crash in Jackson Township caused by driver striking deer

Police say two teenagers were killed and three others were critically injured in the crash.

Jackson Township police say that a crash that left two teenagers dead and three others injured occurred when the driver struck a deer and lost control of the vehicle.
Police say the crash happened on Friday, just after 4:30 a.m. on North Hope Chapel Road near New Central Avenue. Police say that the driver struck a deer, causing the car to lose control and then struck a tree on the side of the road.
Police say the crash caused the vehicle to burst into flames. One person was killed on impact, and another died as a result of the fire. Police say first responders pulled two others from the crash wreckage. The fifth victim was able to get out of the car before crews arrived on the scene.
Police say that the three people injured are in critical condition.
