Police say an 18-year-old man was killed in Yonkers Wednesday in the city's second shooting on Morris Place in a matter of hours.
Neighbors say a man ran up to Tyrone Stone, fired about six shots, and then fled on foot. Earlier, a drive-by shooting happened a few feet away, residents say.
Authorities say they are investigating whether the two shootings are related and if gangs played a role in the violence. According to neighbors, Stone was part of a gang called the 288s. Though police have confirmed the gang exists, they haven't released information about the victim's connection, if any.
