Two people are filing a lawsuit that alleges they were abused as children more than 50 years ago at the Green Chimneys School in Putnam County.
For more than 70 years, the Brewster school has been serving children as a special education school.
The pair, who wish to remain anonymous, are filing a lawsuit under the New York Child Victims Act. They allege that they endured sexual assaults and abuse at the hands of a man named Robert Doig, who worked at the school's horse stables.
Both say they told Samuel Ross, the head of the nonprofit, but they say he did nothing.
"There was 26 of us that that person molested, and we went down to the Ross's house. Twenty-six of us walked to his house and told him what was going on," said one of the alleged victims.
One of them said the abuse happened in the late 1960s when she was 10 to 13 years old.

The other said it happened in the 1970s, around the age of 12.

Doig and Ross have died, but both alleged victims are filing suit with Herman Law against Green Chimneys under the Child Victims Act.
They say they are hoping that by taking legal action, it will help them heal and protect other children.
A spokesperson for Green Chimneys released a statement saying, "We are aware and take any allegations seriously. While we do not comment on pending litigation,  we have an excellent team working with us."
