Two people are charged with murder in an Orange County house fire that was ruled a homicide.
The body of 81-year-old Helen Mills was found in her bedroom Saturday morning after firefighters put out the blaze at her Green Street home. Detectives think the fire was set in the aftermath of a drug-fueled, botched burglary attempt.
The Orange County DA says 17-year-old Jennifer Moylneaux, of Wallkill, and 19-year-old Devin Giordano, of Goshen, were arraigned in court over the weekend.
Police have not released details about how the suspects allegedly killed Mills, but money was apparently one motive.
The district attorney and other law enforcement officials are expected to release more details about the homicide investigation on Tuesday.
The suspects are behind bars being held without bail. They are due back in court at the end of the week.
