The Red Cross is helping 19 people who were displaced when a fire destroyed their home Monday morning.
Several fire departments responded to a call about flames at 125 South William St. at around 8:45 a.m. Four people were trapped in the fire and firefighters rescued them all unharmed.
Firefighters believe the fire started on first floor of the three-story apartment building in a common hallway and spread all the way up to the third floor. Fire officials haven't determined the cause of the flames, but the fire is being considered suspicious because of its origin.
Three adjoining buildings were also impacted by the fire.
