Rockland County police say they've charged 18 suspected drug dealers following an investigation into a Spring Valley barbershop.
Lygia's Peluqueria Unisex on South Main Street was an alleged front for the group's narcotics distribution, according to Rockland County officials. The owners of the barbershop, who were not arrested, maintain that they know nothing about the alleged drug operations.
Authorities say the alleged drug dealers sold heroin, cocaine and prescription pills to an undercover officer. They say the dealers sold large amounts of narcotics in Suffern, Spring Valley and Clarkstown.
Rockland officials, including District Attorney Tom Zugibe, say that their efforts to clean up the streets aren't done yet.
So far, 16 of the alleged dealers have been arrested while two remain at large.
