The 121st U.S. Women's Amateur got underway Moday at Westchester Country Club.
For the first time in 98 years, the U.S. Women's amateur kicked off as 156 of the best female amateur golfers in the world took aim at one of the toughest challenges in the sport.
Day 1 started with stroke play as only 10 golfers from the morning tee times finished under par.
Tied for the lead at two-under heading into the afternoon was Brooke Seay, who played in the event for the sixth time in her career.
The tournament continues Tuesday with another round of stroke play before the field is narrowed down to 64 for match play beginning on Wednesday.
