A significant boost of $100,000 in funds is making its way to two agriculture organizations in our area.
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets has awarded this funding to urban farms and community gardens across the state, with a focus on food production, safety, and distribution.
Among the recipients, the Clarkstown Central School District will receive $50,000 for their Garden Wellness Initiative. This initiative aims to promote health and wellness through gardening activities within the school community.
Additionally, the Poughkeepsie Farm Project will also benefit from $50,000 in funding. This project plays a crucial role in supporting local agriculture efforts and enhancing access to fresh, locally-grown produce in the Poughkeepsie area.
