One person is dead after a crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Irvington.
The crash happened on the southbound side of the parkway near exit 20 at around 11 a.m.
Police say a male driver hit an embankment in the middle of the parkway and was ejected from his car.
Southbound drivers were forced to take an alternative route as investigators stayed on the scene for hours.
Police have yet to release details on what made the driver hit the embankment or how fast he was driving when he crashed.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
