Police say an intoxicated driver crashed his car into a tree on Route 6N in Mahopac Falls Tuesday night, killing his friend and injuring two others.
According to investigators, 18-year-old Michael Jorgenson was speeding and possibly high when he attempted to pass another vehicle, lost control and crashed his Dodge. Jorgensen's friend Arron Talcovitz, who was riding with him, died upon arriving at the hospital.
Jorgensen's two other passengers, Patrick Sweeny and John Miglacio, were also hospitalized. They are expected to recover.
Jorgenson now faces several charges, including speeding and driving while impaired by drugs. He is expected in court Aug. 17.
