Yorktown is launching a new marketing campaign in an ongoing effort to revitalize its business community.
Yorktown Town Supervisor Matt Slater launched "Destination Y" Tuesday surrounded by town and county business officials.
The campaign's theme is "Yorktown: Up Where You Belong," and it promotes Yorktown as both an investment and relocation opportunity.
As part of the new initiative, the town will be reviewing and adopting zoning overlay districts.
"The overlay zones provide real creativity and flexibility for our business hamlets...again for people who want to start a business here in Yorktown who live in Yorktown, or by helping us attract businesses as they continue this exodus out of urban settings," says Slater.
Banners are being put up around town promoting the new campaign, and local businesses are encouraged to put decals on their front windows as a show of support.
The new campaign will initially run through November.
