The Yorktown High School community is in mourning after a student just starting his senior year was found dead in his home Monday morning.
Seventeen-year-old Justin Veatch?s body was found by his mother. As police continue to investigate the cause of his death, Veatch?s Yorktown High School classmates are trying to deal with the sudden loss.
Veatch?s friends say he was well-liked on campus and involved in activities like track and cross-country. They say they will mourn and celebrate his life through the music he made with his band, The Ivoryton Piano Factory.
?You were a gift to us all. Rest in peace. Your music will resound forever in my mind,? friend Ethan Barr wrote on the band?s MySpace.com page.
Sources say Veatch?s death may have been the result of a drug overdose, but that information has not been corroborated. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.
