Yorktown crews work on roads to prevent flooding
Highway crews in Yorktown were out working since before dawn to help prevent flooding on local roads.
The Yorktown Highway Department said that there were many problems beginning at 5 a.m. due to icing on roads and temperatures dropping.
DOT crews had to clear leaves from drains, as well as debris along the Saw Mill Parkway.
It was also a messy commute for drivers on the Taconic State Parkway as the rain fell.
At the Croton Gorge Dam, heavy water flowed, as water collected on roadways in Yorktown Heights.
Despite the soggy weather, some residents looked on the bright side and said they preferred the rain to snow.
