A former YMCA board member is blowing the whistle on the non-profit group, making accusations Monday about improper spending.

The YMCA board has confirmed that it has launched a probe into accusations that the non-profit's executive director, Greg du Sablon, has been spending money for personal purposes. Former board member Sam Riti says he wants answers because his signature is attached to some of the checks in question. He claims his signature, without his knowledge, is on YMCA checks that paid off du Sablon's personal credit cards. Riti says his signature came from a rubber stamp that was only used for payroll purposes.

Although Riti has not alerted authorities about the alleged wrongdoing, other YMCA employees have notified the U.S. Attorney's Office and the state Attorney General's Office. The YMCA receives a big chunk of its money from taxpayer-funded grants.
