Yonkers women honored for community work
A group of women was recognized Monday for giving back to the Yonkers community.
The women gathered at Yonkers City Hall to be presented with the city's 2015 Women of Distinction award.
Former Yonkers first lady Carol Martinelli was posthumously honored for her volunteer work. She passed away last November. Her husband, former Mayor Angelo Martinelli, accepted the award on her behalf.
Westchester County Legislator Bernice Spreckman was in attendance at the ceremony. She announced that she will be running again for county legislator.
