Yonkers woman faces charges in pit bull’s death
A Yonkers woman is facing animal cruelty charges for failing to feed and care for her two pit bulls.
Police say they were alerted to two dogs fighting each other in the backyard of Ashaki Bryant's home at 10 Stewart Place in January.
The dogs were taken to a veterinarian at Central Animal Hospital and were found to be dehydrated, malnourished and had various wounds and scars that were not taken care of.
The male dog involved in the fight later died of his injuries.
Bryant, 40, was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
