A Yonkers woman who spent 17 nights sleeping outside to protest the planned ground zero memorial, has ended her demonstration. Rosaleen Taylor, 34, lost her younger brother, Sean Tallon, on September 11. The Rye native was a New York City firefighter stationed near the twin towers. Taylor and other family members say the planned underground memorial is inappropriate and a danger that could trap thousands if terrorists strike the site again. Opponents to the plan have gathered more than 10,000 signatures for a petition protesting the design. They plan to present it to Congress in the coming weeks.
