Yonkers star athlete faces more than 20 years

Police say a teenager caught on surveillance tape punching and robbing a Catholic school teacher is a star athlete from Yonkers.
Video footage allegedly shows the suspect punch 62-year-old Patricia McGowan in the face and then run off with her purse. Authorities now believe that suspect is Eric Ferguson, an 18-year-old who excelled on the basketball team at Leake and Watts School last year.
Ferguson has been arraigned on multiple charges of robbery, assault and grand larceny in connection to a number of additional crimes as well. He faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted.
The teenager has reportedly admitted up to a number of his charges. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
