Yonkers schools evacuated after high-tech bomb scare
Students at a Yonkers middle school and elementary school were forced to evacuate Wednesday due to a bomb threat with a high-tech twist.
The Yonkers School District received a call from police around 8 a.m. informing them of a bomb threat. Mark Twain Middle School students were immediately evacuated out of the building. Parents dropping their children off at Montessori School 11, the elementary school attached to the middle school, weren't allowed in.
Police say the threat came from a computer-generated phone call, making it more difficult for them to trace. K-9 units searched the buildings, while students were placed on buses.
No bomb was found and students from both schools were allowed back in. One student suffered an asthma attack during the ordeal.
