Yonkers police reminded people to stay 6 feet away from others Wednesday in Getty Square as part of a new campaign.
Officers handed out thousands of cards, written in both English and Spanish, that explain that by standing a safe distance away and avoiding large gatherings, we can each help limit the spread of coronavirus.
Yonkers Police Commissioner John Mueller says since the weather is getting nicer, it's the perfect time to show everyone has a part to play in limiting the virus' scope.
Yonkers has the most coronavirus cases in all of Westchester County, with over 1,900 cases reported. Mueller says those who do not adhere to the rules can be fined or arrested.
