Police in Yonkers are trying to determine if an armed robbery and an attempted robbery in the city are connected.
According to police, three male teens walking on Bronx River Road Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. were approached by two men who asked them for the time and directions. Then one suspect told them to put everything they had into a bag while the other suspect pulled out a black automatic pistol. The teens were robbed of an iPod, a gold chain and wallets. Police say the two suspects fled on foot.
About 15 minutes later, police say an 18-year-old was approached by two men in a minivan about a mile from the first robbery. The men in the van asked for the time and directions. When the teen approached them he was told to give up his wallet. Police say the teen fled the scene but told them he believed one suspect had a gun.
