The bad weather did not prevent preparations for Yonkers 51st annual St. Patrick?s Day parade Thursday.

Mayor Phil Amicone and parade Grand Marshal Aileen Flath put a fresh coat of green paint on the parade route down South Broadway. The tradition in the city usually signifies the coming of spring. They plan to have lots of pipe bands and festivities for residents when the parade commences on Sunday.

One thing is for sure, no matter what Mother Nature brings, Irish pride will be out in full force in the city of Yonkers.
