Yonkers native's try at new life turns tragic
A Yonkers woman who moved down South looking for a change of scenery was shot and killed by a stray bullet early Sunday morning.
Police say 20-year-old Fantasia Byrd was killed when someone fired at least 20 shots outside her cousin's apartment in Roswell, Ga.
Friends say Byrd had moved down just two weeks ago after graduating from Westchester Community College.
Police say Byrd was not the gunman's intended target. No arrests have been made in the shooting.
