According to police, officers were in the area of Yonkers Avenue Saturday after they received a tip about a drug deal. Christopher Mims was spotted leaving his apartment with cocaine. Police later found cocaine and a loaded gun in a child?s dresser in the apartment Mims shares with his girlfriend, Ebony Smith.
Mims and Smith, the child?s mother, have been charged with drug and weapons possession. The 2-year-old girl was removed from the apartment and is staying with relatives.
