The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge went viral several years ago, but the challenge still continues to this day.
The fifth annual Ice Bucket Challenge was held in Yonkers to raise awareness and show support.
The challenge was co-founded by Yonkers resident Pat Quinn, who is battling the disease.
"We have to keep this in the public eye so people know what ALS is and the devastation that it causes and the financial burden that it does have on families," says his father Pat Quinn Sr. "We need help. We need treatment. We need a cure and we need it now."
Organizers say they plan on continuing the Ice Bucket Challenge until there is a cure.
