Yonkers family survives Christmas weekend home invasion
A Yonkers family is recovering from a Christmas weekend nightmare after two thieves burst in with a gun and baseball bat.
Police say the suspects gained entry to the Cortlandville Lane home through a back door Saturday night. A woman was home alone at the time, but detectives say her son and his girlfriend interrupted the robbery. According to police, the thieves tied up the three people while they ransacked the house and stole the family?s vehicle.
The home invasion has left neighbors on alert, especially since it?s the latest in a string of robberies. Detectives say they cannot confirm whether the incidents are related. They?re asking for the public?s help to locate the suspects and the stolen vehicle with the tag number DMG 2804.
