A distillery in Yonkers is changing its business plan to help battle the public health crisis.
Facing a 90% drop in liquor sales, Nahmias Et Fils is turning to hand sanitizer to stay afloat.
"There's no hand sanitizer! I mean, just everybody needs it. We're in a major, probably the biggest, crisis in our lifetime. Hand sanitizer is a critical component of trying to keep safe. So if we're able to do it, why not?" says co-owner Dorit Nahmias.
Known for their Moroccan spirits, rye, and whiskey, Nahmias Et Fils is the only alcohol distillery in Yonkers.
