The Yonkers Board of Education offered the non-teaching staff a tentative four-year deal Tuesday. The 1,800 CSEA members, which include clerical workers, teachers? aides and janitors, have been working without a contract for three years. CSEA union leaders say members still need to vote on the deal but say the contract offered by the board of education is a fair and equitable one.
The specifics of the contract are being kept under wraps until the union votes on May 16. If the contract is approved, school board members will meet the following day and take its vote.
