St. John's Riverside Hospital discharged its 750th patient who was being treated for COVID-19.
Ferdinand Naron, a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital, contracted the virus and was placed on a ventilator for 21 days.
Upon his release, he was joined by Mayor Mike Spano, first responders, and fellow hospital health care workers.
Naron says he was losing hope after knowing that many people hadn’t recovered after being on ventilators. Luckily, hospital staff at St. John's Riverside were able to keep his hopes up.
News 12 is told Naron will continue pulmonary rehabilitation treatment at Helen Hayes Rehab Hospital in Rockland County.
