On McLean Avenue in Yonkers, Irish pride is on display all year long, but particularly on St. Patrick’s Day.
McLean Avenue Bagel Cafe in Yonkers is celebrating by selling Irish scones, soda bread and green-colored bagels.
“It’s going to be a blast. Everybody comes the whole week. People come from Ireland, people come from everywhere,” says employee Kathy Lynch.
At The Butcher’s Fancy, owner Oliver Charles stocks both traditional Irish meats like boiling bacon and the more popular locally corned beef, of which he says he sells about 2,000 pounds for the holiday.
