WWII vet receives overdue honor
Thomas Griffith was a radio technician during the war, but he never received his medals, until his family contacted Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.
Maloney held a presentation ceremony yesterday at the Middletown rehabilitation center to honor the 91-year-old veteran and thank him for his service. "It's really fantastic. You don't really understand because I wasn't expecting it," says Griffith.
Griffith is a native of Pearl River and was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1946.
