Wreath-laying ceremony remembers 2 men who died from toxic gas in Tarrytown
A ceremony on Sunday was held to pay tribute to two men who lost their lives 10 years ago in Tarrytown.

Department of Public Works employee Anthony Ruggiero was responding to a simple sewage problem when he stepped in a manhole in Tarrytown.

Shortly after, toxic gas from what was reported to be hydrogen sulfide left his life in danger.

John Kelly was responding to the call as a volunteer firefighter.
Both died tragically trying to escape.

Today community members and family gathered at the Tarrytown Fire Department Headquarters to remember the men and what they gave to the town.
