It's been five years since her mother's murder, but the wounds are still deep for a Rockland County daughter.
Peggy Nadell was found stabbed to death in her Valley Cottage home in 2014.
Nadell was the mother of two children, including Susanne Nadell-Scaccio, who still is trying to adjust to her reality.
"It will always feel fresh, it's something that I have to learn to live with," Nadell-Scaccio says. "I'm learning to adapt, I'm learning to adapt to my mother's absence."
Peggy was allegedly murdered by her daughter-in-law, Diana Nadell, in an apparent attempt to get her hand on the 80-year-old's $4 million estate.
Diana Nadell was sentenced in 2015 to 23 years to life in prison for the murder.
